Outreach Manager – West Central

Indianapolis, IN

IYI is looking to add an Outreach Manager in West Central Indiana to our team who is passionate about improving the lives of all Indiana youth. The Outreach Manager serves as IYI’s representative to a designated region of Indiana to promote IYI’s mission, engage youth workers with opportunities, facilitate collaborations, lead various projects, and cultivate relationships. The Outreach Manager connects youth workers and youth-serving organizations to IYI services and resources to impact the healthy development of Indiana’s children and youth.  

Most of the work for this position is performed in the field, and extensive travel within the assigned region is necessary. The Outreach Manager will be based in a home office, and additional hours over the standard work week may be required from time to time. 

Core Responsibilities Will Include: 

Community Engagement 

  • Attend coalition meetings related to IYI's mission and vision across the state   
  • Cultivate local relationships through 1:1 or small group meetings to uncover, explore, and share core values and motivating interests of IYI’s partners.   
  • Build relationships with key leaders in community, creating mutually beneficial opportunities for sharing.  
  • Present to youth-serving organizations statewide on IYI and our services, opportunities, and engagements to further our organizational reach.  
  • Assist with organization-building skills through training, workshops, and one-on-one strategic advising with community coalition leaders
  • Guide coalitions, organizations, or youth-serving individuals to understand and monitor progress of goals. 

 Event Coordination and Management 

  • Coordinate and organize planning meetings for every county in respective region (6-12 per region), including preparation of documents for the meeting, lunch, follow-up notes, and related data for the county.   
  • Administer YWCs related to specific grant funding  
  • Manage budget allotment for YWC program based on food, participants, and speaker fees.  
  • Analyze and track YWC participant data to identify gaps and growth areas in participant engagement across the state.  
  • Host in-person and virtual conferences and training sessions. 

General 

  • Establish and promote positive communication among all team members of IYI to increase collaboration and reduce inefficiencies. 
  • Professionally represent IYI at all times, providing courteous service to both internal and external constituents and presenting a positive image of IYI. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned. 

The Ideal Candidate will: 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree. (required) 
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in youth development, education, child welfare, family services, health, and/or juvenile justice.   
  • Be well-organized and self-directed, managing multiple tasks and priorities with great attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrate the proven ability to handle multiple projects, work independently with minimal direction, and work as a member or leader of a team. 
  • Possess self-discipline, a high level of independent judgment and decision making.  
  • Ability to build long-term, trusting working relationships with diverse individuals and communities. 
  • Have reliable transportation. (required) Private vehicle drivers must have a valid driver's license and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.    
  • Experience facilitating group workshops is a plus. 

Travel, Compensation, and Location 

Travel: This role requires comfort with significant travel (up to 50%), to meet agency needs (often in places of employment), attend conferences and meetings, etc.  Travel is generally within designated region. 

Compensation: Salary range for this position is $50,000 to $65,000 with a strong benefits package. 

Location:  Outreach Managers must live in or adjacent to their region. The West Central Region serves the following Counties: Benton, Warren, Tippecanoe, Fountain, Vermillion, Montgomery, Parke, Putnam, Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Owen, and Monroe Counties.
