Indiana Youth Institute - Engagement Liaison Program - Independent Contractor
Program Overview
The IYI Engagement Liaison Program is aimed at offering services specifically to youth-serving organizations in counties with poverty rates higher than the state average. IYI Engagement Liaisons will leverage the knowledge of their communities to engage their local youth-serving organizations, create connections, foster collaborations, and nurture vital relationships that open opportunities for youth-serving organizations.
Engagement Liaison Deliverables
- Engage 12-15 identified organizations to build awareness of IYI.
- Introduce IYI’s Outreach Managers to youth-serving organizational contacts.
- Expand youth serving organization’s use of IYI’s service.
Contract Terms
Time Commitment and Meetings
- In-person kick-off and Orientation: June 4, 2025
- Research and Planning: June 2025
- Quick check with IYI point of contact: Monthly
- Virtual mid-point meeting: September 19, 2025
- In-person at KCC: November 4, 2025
- Virtual year-end reflection: January 16, 2026
Compensation and Time Investment:
- Estimated Time Investment: 60 to 80 hours over 8 months.
- Stipend: Engagement Liaison will receive a $3,500 stipend, paid in three distributions.
- Travel Stipend for Local Engagements: $250.
- Additional Benefits: Complimentary IYI KIDS COUNT Conference registration, hotel accommodation, and travel stipend for the conference.
Selection Timeline
- Applications opens: April 3, 2025
- Application closes: April 30, 2025
- Virtual Interview: April 23-May 8, 2025
- Engagement Liaison selected and notified: May 13, 2025
- In-Person kickoff meeting: June 4, 2025
Eligibility
- Positive track record in the youth services field of connecting community organizations to resources.
- Demonstrate deep youth-services community ties and familiarity with youth services needs for the designated county.
- Proven ability to proactively listen to and understand the issues related to youth-serving organizations within the designated county.
- Ability to foster relationships and create warm handoffs to IYI staff to cultivate deeper engagement.
- Available during normal business hours.
- Must have a supervisor or organizational sign-off to serve as an IYI Ambassador.
- Ambassadors are considered independent contractors for IYI.
